Graphics & Artwork Department Information:

Ross Name Plate uses Adobe® products to create layouts, templates and stencils on film for silkscreen printing. We are capable of completing custom artwork from blue prints or specific instructions and specifications. We can recreate and/or duplicate artwork from samples, scans, photos, existing labels or printed materials as well as using, re-formatting and editing submitted artwork files (such as vector or other digital format files).

 

Colors:

"Solid" color separations are specific to the type of job we are doing. We use Pantone color matching system and FED-STD-595 color charts.

 

Recommendations For File Transfers:

- Adobe Illustrator® - Save as .EPS or .AI (Convert text to outlines to avoid font incompatibility)
- Adobe Photoshop® - Save as .JPG or .TIFF, 100% Black, 300 dpi minimum.
- AutoCAD® - Save as .DWG. Files can also be saved as .DXF, but this format is not always reliable. Also include any special .SHX or .TTF (True Type Font) font files you may be using or are required.
- Macromedia Freehand® - Save to any format

Note: Artwork in these formats or directly compatible with these programs would be best. Many applications can save or export to these formats. Please consult manuals or vendor for specific instructions.

Special Notes:

While native MAC or Adobe files are preferred, we are able to convert most files from PC to MAC if needed. Whenever possible, create font outlines to avoid font incompatibility. As an alternative, you can include specific fonts with your file (MAC format). Please feel free to ask if a font being specified is available on our system.
